Description
The Thatch is a cottage located on Main Street in South Willingham, dating from the 17th century with some 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of colour-washed rubble and some render, topped with hipped thatched roofs featuring a single gable and a single ridge stack. It has two raking dormers with casement windows and is designed as a single storey with an attic.
The eastern wing, which is from the 17th century, has three bays and a central doorway that features a studded, partially glazed door leading to a lobby entrance. This doorway is flanked by windows, with a glazing bar sliding sash window to the left and a glazing bar casement window to the right. The 20th-century south wing includes a modern doorway flanked by narrow glazing bar lights, with a 20th-century casement window to the left.
