Description
Ivy Cottage and the adjacent cottage are a pair of estate cottages built in the late 18th century and remodeled in the mid 19th century. They are constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. The cottages have hipped pantile roofs with two central raised stone coped gables topped with ball finials and two moulded stone ridge stacks.
The front of the cottages is two storeys high and irregularly arranged in four bays, with the central two bays slightly advanced and gabled. Plain stone brackets are present at the eaves. The ground floor has a pair of two-light windows flanked by single smaller windows, while the first floor features four two-light windows. All windows are glazing bar casements with plain raised stone surrounds. Additionally, there is a through eaves dormer on the side wall, which has two lights and a moulded ashlar shaped gablette with a ball finial.
