Description
The Music School of Stamford High School is a mid to late 19th-century school building constructed from coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. It features a gabled facade facing the road and has a plinth. The building includes a modern six-light window set beneath a drip mould and a lunette in a diaper-shaped reveal, along with a door also under a drip mould. To the right, a two-storey section is set back and has a four-light window in the gable topped with a finial, above a three-light window, and a two-light window to the right. The ground floor windows are adorned with drip moulds, and there are two tall paired diagonal set chimneys. The building is part of a group that includes Nos 39 to 43, the garden wall to No 43, No 44, the wall to No 44, Nos 45 to 70, and the garden wall to Nos 68 and 69, along with the Burghley Almshouses.
