Description
Number 46 on St Martin's is a late 18th-century building that stands five storeys tall and is constructed of ashlar stone. It features a moulded stone cornice and parapet, with stone bands separating the storeys. The building has two windows with plain reveals, both of which are double-hung sashes that include glazing bars. The central window on the top floor is blocked. The main entrance consists of a central door with five panels, three of which are glazed and one oval, set within a stone doorcase that has fluted pilasters and a moulded frieze, topped with a residual pediment. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 39 to 43, the garden wall to No 43, No 44, the wall to No 44, Nos 45 to 70, and the garden wall to Nos 68 and 69, along with the Burghley Almshouses.
