Description

57 and 58 St Martin's is a building dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is two storeys high with attics, constructed from coursed rubble. The roof is covered with old slates and features three hipped dormers. The building has three windows on the upper floor, which are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The second-floor windows are set in flush frames. On the ground floor, there is a former 19th-century shop window that is large and bowed, accompanied by a smaller 19th-century bay window with three lights to the left. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 39 to 43, a garden wall to Nos 43, No 44, a wall to No 44, Nos 45 to 70, and a garden wall to Nos 68 and 69, along with the Burghley Almshouses.
