TF 00 NE UFFINGTON MAIN STREET (south side) 9/252 Garden house to demolished Uffington House

G.V. II

Former garden house. Late C18. Coursed limestone rubble, ashlar quoins and dressings, hipped asbestos sheet roof, 2 ashlar ridge stacks. 2 storey, 4 bay front arranged 1:2:1, the centre 2 bays slightly advanced with open pediment. Moulded eaves cornice. Originally 4 tall doors, 3 now reduced to windows. To first floor are 4 window openings. All openings have plain ashlar surrounds with flat ashlar arches. Built up against the tall park wall, the plinth shows inside.
