Description

No. 1 Pond Street is a house dating from the 17th century, with some restoration work from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a steep pantile roof. The east gable has a stone coping and stack, while the west gable has a brick coping and stack. The building is two stories high with a three-bay front. The central doorway has a plain chamfered surround and a moulded cornice, with a 20th-century plank door and secondary glass doors. On either side of the doorway are single stone mullion windows, each with moulded cornices; the window to the east has three lights, and the one to the west has four lights. Above the doorway, there are two three-light mullion windows, also with moulded cornices.
