Description

Nos. 4 and 6, known as The Shoe Boutique and Ogden's General Produce, are two shops located on Market Street in Long Sutton. They date from the early 19th century, with later alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The buildings are constructed of red brick and have a slate roof, featuring a single gable and outer ridge stacks.

The structure stands two and a half storeys tall and has four bays. No. 4 showcases a late 19th-century shop front, which includes a doorway with glazed and panelled double doors that have marginal glazing bars and a similar overlight. This doorway is flanked by single reeded strips topped with a single patera. To the left, there is a large shop window with glazing bars and curved sides, accompanied by a single similar strip on the left side.

No. 6 has a similar shop front, but its glazed double door, overlight, and canted shop window are from the 20th century. Above both shops are four glazing bar sash windows, with four smaller sash windows on the top floor, all featuring flush wedge lintels.
