Description

EWERBY AND EVEDON MAIN STREET TF 14 NW (west side) 3/29 The Manor House G.V. II

Farmhouse. Mid C19, in the Tudor taste. Limestone ashlar facade, red brick in English bond to sides and rear, slate roof with raised stone coped gables, scrolled kneelers. 2 red brick wall stacks with pairs of octagonal ashlar funnels having moulded cornices. H-plan. 2 storey, 3 bay front, the end bays separately gabled, plain plinth, double chamfered eaves course. A central pair of 4 centred arched openings has a plain parapet to a flat roofed open porch containing a half glazed panelled door to the right and a small fixed glazing bar light to the left. Flanked by single slightly advanced 3 light windows. To first floor a shorter 3 light window is flanked by single 2 light windows with hipped ashlar roofs. All windows are glazing bar sashes with slender ovolo moulded mullions, double chamfered surrounds and label stops. In the flanking gables are single blank rectangular chamfered openings.
