Description
Lower Lodge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-19th century, though it likely has earlier origins. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and features a slate multi-span roof with coped gables and moulded stone end stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, with corner pilasters. A central ashlar porch, supported by carrier pilasters and topped with a coped gable, encloses a panelled and part-glazed door. Above the porch is a 6/6 sash window, while the other windows are tripartite, consisting of two 2/2 sashes flanking a 6/6 sash. The windows have gauged stone heads with keystones. At the rear, there is a parallel wing and a gabled wing that projects beyond it, which includes a low gabled addition in the far angle. A leaded casement window is present at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
