Description

Rose Cottages comprise a row of three houses built in the mid-19th century as part of the Pipewell Hall estate. The cottages are constructed of limestone ashlar with slate roofs. Originally, each cottage had a two-unit plan. They are single-storey buildings with attics. The front elevation is a 5-window range of casement windows, featuring diamond panes within cast iron glazing bars, all set under shallow stone arches. Matching attic windows with lozenge panes are found in gabled half-dormers. Contemporary doors are located between the windows, also set under shallow stone arches. Brick and stone stacks, featuring diagonal flues, are situated at the ridge and end of the building. 20th-century extensions are present at the rear. The interiors have not been inspected.
