Description
The Lodge is a mid-19th century lodge building located in Rushton, formerly known as the Lodge to Pipewell Hall. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and features a fishscale tile roof with a brick ridge stack that has diagonally set shafts. The building is single-storey and has an L-plan layout.
On the left side, there is a projecting gable that includes a parapet supported by decorative kneelers and a 2-light chamfered mullioned window with decorative lattice glazing. To the right, there is a Tudor-headed door with four panels (the upper two are glazed) set in a moulded stone architrave, flanked by lancet windows that have decorative leading. The right return of the building features a bay window, while the left return has a similar gable with a 2-light pointed-arched window that displays Decorated style tracery. The interior has not been inspected.
