Description

The Old Post Office is a house, dated 1674, that was remodelled in the 19th century for the Pipewell Hall estate. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a slate roof and has a T-shaped plan. The building is two storeys high and features a two-window range of leaded casements, each set under a wooden lintel. A 20th-century door is centrally positioned and also sits under a wooden lintel. Brick and stone stacks, featuring diagonal flues, are located at the ends of the building. A datestone is set into the left gable. The interior has not been inspected. The house is part of a group that was upgraded for the Pipewell Hall estate in the early 19th century. It is included on the list for its group value.
