Description
Nos 18 and 19A, 19B and 19C on Northgate are late 18th-century buildings. They are three storeys tall, constructed in red brick with stone quoins. The right-hand section features a two-storey extension that includes a Tuscan doorway with an entablature, which may be a modern copy, accessed by four steps. The ingoes are panelled, and there is a modern door along with an ornamental segmental fanlight. The ground floor is rendered, and there is one window above with a carved stone lintel and no glazing bars. The building has a stone cornice and a parapet.
The left-hand section also has three storeys and a modern parapet. It contains two windows on the lower two storeys, both with similar carved lintels and no glazing bars. The first-floor windows are longer and feature a wrought iron balcony on brackets. The shop front is modern. The Church Lane elevation has irregular fenestration and a pedimented doorcase, along with a stone blocking course and a coved cornice.
