Description

Nos 6 and 7 on St James Street are probably early 19th century buildings that have been altered. They are three storeys tall, constructed of brick, with the left side roughcast and the right side colourwashed. The roof is hipped and covered with old tiles, featuring a moulded eaves band. There are three windows, with the centre window on the second floor blocked; No 6 has sashes with glazing bars, while No 7 has modern windows. Both buildings have modern shop fronts. The central doorcase includes fluted pilasters, panelled reveals, a fanlight, and a six-panel door.

Nos 5 to 8 (consecutive) and 8A are part of a group that also includes Nos 2A, 3, and 4, which are of local interest.
