Description
23 Northgate is a 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall, constructed from red brick with a stone plinth and a slate roof. It features brick stacks at the gable ends and a stone band separating the storeys. The façade includes three windows, with two being 3-light shallow bays that have moulded cornices and hung sashes with glazing bars. The central window is adorned with a small cornice. The building has a wood modillion eaves cornice and a notable Doric doorcase that includes an open pediment and a traceried fanlight. The door consists of six panels and has panelled ingoes, with steps leading up to it. Although the building is set back from the street, the railings have been removed. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 23 and 27 to 45 (odd) along with the Manor House.
