Description

This is an 18th-century building of two storeys and a basement with a front area. It is constructed of red brick with an old tiled roof and a wooden eaves cornice featuring modillions. A moulded brick stringcourse runs above the first floor. The façade has five sash windows with vertical sliding panels only. The building has a particularly fine doorcase, featuring engaged Ionic columns on plinths, an enriched frieze with reeded bands and oval paterae, a pediment, a low, rectangular fanlight, and a door of six moulded panels. Footscrapers are present, alongside spear railings to the front area. The building is part of a group with numbers 14 to 32 (even) on North Street.
