Description
No 18 North Street is a pair of timber-framed houses that were refronted in the 18th century and have since been refaced with cement. However, the timber-framing is still visible on the ground floor of the south wall in the passage through the building. The houses are three storeys tall and feature a hipped old tiled roof with a modillion eaves cornice. On the first floor, there are two sashes with small flat bays. The glazing bars have been restored on No 18 and remain intact on No 16. The property also includes a modern Neo-Georgian bow and doorcase with reeded pilasters. There is a passage through the ground floor of No 16 that leads to a courtyard behind, which has stone flags. The left side elevation of the building is tile-hung. Nos 14 to 32 (even) form a group.
