Description
East Grove is an 18th-century building located on Grove Road. It is constructed of red brick and features a modillion eaves cornice and a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, which includes three dormers and five sash windows with glazing bars, although there is one blank window on the first floor. The entrance is marked by an elaborate doorcase that includes a broken pediment, a finely enriched frieze, pilasters, and a mask keystone. The shouldered architrave and pediment are decorated with egg and dart moulding. The door itself consists of six fielded panels with panelled reveals. East Grove is part of a group that includes its garden wall, gate with overthrow, and the walls opposite, which are of local interest.
