Description

This is a cottage located at 2 Church Lane, dating from the late 17th century and altered in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with quoins and features a brick dogtooth eaves course. The roof is made of pantiles and has raised brick coped gables, along with a single tall 19th-century red brick gable stack and a tall rear wall stack. The building is single storey with attics and consists of three bays. The central entrance has a plank door, flanked by two boarded-up two-light openings, all featuring timber lintels. Above, there are two 19th-century gabled dormers, each with two-light sliding sashes that have boarded checks and carved barge boards. Inside, the cottage retains a single simple chamfered beam.
