Description

The former bank at No 7 Market Place is a mid-19th century building. It stands two storeys high, constructed in ashlar with a Welsh slate roof and features a modillion eaves cornice. The building has rusticated quoins and two windows with moulded stone surrounds and cills supported by brackets, fitted with hung sashes that do not have glazing bars.

On the ground floor, channelled pilasters separate three windows and a door, which has modern glass, an entablature, and a cornice. There is also a scraper and a panelled plinth. The door is located in the angle quoin with a window above it, featuring a channelled doorway with a mask in the keystone and a round arch, leading to a modern door. At the rear, there is a small wing made of coursed rubble.

This building is included as part of a group with Nos 7 to 12 (consecutive), the Parish Church of St Denys, the Vicarage, the Lock-up, and the War Memorial.
