Description
The Vicarage is a 15th-century timber-framed building with two storeys and a prominent central gable. The upper storey features half-timbering that overhangs, along with a central bay window that has four lights, wood mullions, and modern glazing. The roof is covered with old tiles, while the ground floor is rendered. On the right side of the building, there is a bargeboard and wood frieze of the same design, and the left side has a small brick parapet. There are two 18th-century windows and one early casement window. To the left, there is a moulded stone gateway with a rebuilt segmental arch and small brick coping, topped with a cross and a piece of medieval masonry. The right-hand wing of the building, added in 1861 by Charles Kirk, is constructed of red brick and features a door and wood bargeboards. The rear wing is made of coursed rubble and has a rendered bay window with two storeys and Gothick glazing. Inside, there is a chimneypiece dated 1568. The Vicarage is part of a group that includes the Parish Church of St Denys, a lock-up, a war memorial, and Nos 7-12 (consecutive).
