Description
No. 4 Market Street is an 18th-century building that stands five storeys tall and is constructed of brick. It features a dentil eaves cornice. The top floor has two modern windows, while the first floor contains two hung sash windows without glazing bars, which are accented by brick voussoirs. On the ground floor, there is a 19th-century shop window with a four-centred arched head made of stone, along with a stone moulded string course. The building has a stone plinth with a foot scraper and a plain doorway topped with a cornice supported by carved consoles. The doorway has a moulded architrave leading to a modern door and a rectangular fanlight above. Nos. 3 to 6 Market Street form a group with this building.
