Description

These are two early 18th-century buildings on the north side of Market Place. They are constructed of red brick with rusticated stone quoins and have a pantile roof. A stone band runs between the floors, and stone verges and chimney stacks are at the gable ends. Number 8 has four casement windows; two modern sash windows are on the right, with straight brick arches and plain stone keystones. The ground floor of number 8 has been modernized with infill made of stone-colored brick. Number 9 has one window with a keystone on the ground floor and a modern door with a keystone. A stone plinth runs along the base. The three dormers have two 19th-century casement windows and one 18th-century sliding sash with a broken pediment. Numbers 7 to 12, along with the Parish Church of St Denys, the Vicarage, the Lock-up, and the War Memorial, form a group.
