Description
This is a late 18th century cottage, which has been refronted and underbuilt in the 19th century. Originally constructed with mud and stud, it features red and colourwashed brickwork and a slate roof with a large tall ridge stack. The cottage has a lobby entry plan and is a single storey plus garret structure. The front has a three-bay layout with a central door flanked by single glazing bar sashes that have segmental heads. At the rear, there is a lean-to catslide service range with two light sliding sash windows and a planked door. The mud walling is still visible above the plinth level on the front. Note that 'The Cottage' mentioned in the address is not a listed building.
