Description

The Old Hall is a house dating from the early 17th century, which was altered and given a new facade in the late 18th century. It is constructed of red and cream chequered brickwork, with some areas of red brick, and has a hipped roof covered in Welsh slate, along with two brick wall stacks and a dentillated eaves course. The front of the house is two storeys high and three bays wide, with a central four-panel door leading up three steps, and a slender Tuscan porch. Either side of the door are single margin light Venetian sash windows. The first floor has a similar window arrangement, flanking a semi-circular headed margin light sash. All windows have stucco arched heads. To the left is a two-storey, two-bay service wing featuring glazing bar sashes, which incorporates some earlier 17th-century brickwork in English bond. Inside, a stick baluster staircase with a wreathed handrail remains.
