Description
Agriculture House is a late 18th-century, two-storey brick house located on the south side of Eastgate. The roof is covered with modern cement pantiles, and the right side has been rebuilt. The building features two one-light windows on both floors, along with a single-light window above the central entrance. The windows have wide wooden cases that are almost flush with the wall, flat arched heads, and plain cills. The entrance has a semi-circular headed doorway with a blocked fanlight and a simple pedimented doorcase, leading to a panelled door. There is a foot scraper at the entrance, and the ground floor windows have panelled shutters. Notably, the right-hand window on the ground floor has a repaired head. Agriculture House is part of a group that includes Nos 22 to 28 (even), Nos 32 to 40 (even), and the Market Hall.
