Description
Brunswick House is a late 18th century or early 19th century building located on the north side of Market Square in Westerham. It is two storeys tall with an attic and features four windows. The building has a tall slated mansard roof, although the front part is now covered in felt, and includes four high, flat-headed dormers. The exterior is made of painted brick and has a cornice band along with a parapet that has coping gutter.
On the first floor, there is a recessed replaced sash window, while the ground floor has a small modern shop window on the left. To the right, there is an altered shop front from the mid-19th century, which includes sunk panel pilasters, wreaths in the frieze above, and a moulded and modillioned cornice. The central entrance features a four-panel door with a rectangular fanlight, where the top angles are rounded.
Brunswick House is part of a group that includes Nos 12, 16, 18A, 18, 22, 24, 26, and 28.
