Description

No 2 Chequergate is a mid-19th century building that stands one storey high with attics. It has a rendered and painted exterior topped with a pantile roof. The structure features a plinth and rusticated quoins. A prominent large gabled dormer is adorned with carved bargeboarding and a finial. The building has three irregularly placed windows and doors with six and four panels. While it is not of significant individual importance, it contributes to the group value with No 1 Upgate, of which it is part, and forms a group with Nos 2 and 4 Upgate.
