Description

This milepost, located south of the old junction with the A52 on Bicker Road (formerly the A17) in Swineshead, dates from the mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a triangular plan with a square base. The sides of the milepost display raised cast letters indicating distances: "Sleaford 13 miles, Holbeach 13 miles." It also includes the name "Howden Iron, Boston" and an illegible date on the top, with "Swineshead" inscribed on the base.
