Description

This is a milepost located 3 metres south of Hall Farmhouse in Leasingham, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape with a chamfered top. The milepost features raised lettering, inscribed with "Parish of Leasingham. LONDON 117" on the top. The north face indicates "TO SLEAFORD 2 MILES," while the south face states "TO LINCOLN 15 MILES." It appears that this milepost may have been placed on the incorrect side of the road, as Lincoln is situated to the north and Sleaford to the south.
