Description

This is a 17th-century wellhead, altered in the 20th century, located to the rear of number 18 on Moor Lane in Leasingham. The wellhead is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with dressings, and it has a circular plan, standing almost 2 metres high and topped with an ogee cap. The round arched opening, facing north, has a rubble arch which has been partially blocked by a rubble wall. The design is comparable to wellheads found at Digby, Coleby, and Wellingore. Number 18 Moor Lane itself is not included in the listing.
