Description
No. 13 High Street is a shop and house built in the early 19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building features a red brick structure with a lined stucco front and chamfered quoins, topped by a hipped slate roof and an ogee gutter made of wrought and cast iron.
The exterior consists of three storeys and a three-bay front. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front that includes a central door and a mosaic pilaster. Above the fascia, there is a balcony supported by paired scrolled cast-iron brackets, featuring 20th-century wrought-iron balustrading. The first floor has three plain sash windows, while the second floor has three smaller, similar windows. All windows are adorned with splayed rusticated lintels that have keystones.
On the return side, there is a brick plinth and a tall semicircular-headed glazing bar stair light. The entrance features an early 19th-century six-panel door set in panelled reveals, flanked by plain pilasters, fluted capitals, and a narrow hood. The interior has not been inspected.
