Description
The Old Manor Bakery is a cottage located on the south side of Church Street in Scalford, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and features a Swithland slate roof with brick end stacks. It has a two-unit plan and is two stories tall with a one-window range.
To the right of the center, there is a six-panel, part-glazed door framed with pegged wood and topped with a segmental-arched head. On the ground floor to the left of the door, there is a three-light casement window, and to the right, a two-light casement window, both with segmental-arched heads. The first floor features a two-light sliding casement window to the right, which has a wooden lintel and bars on the opening side. The building also has quoins and a footscraper niche to the right of the door. Inside, the property is noted for its chamfered spine beams.
