Description

Nether Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in 1846. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and has a Swithland slate roof, featuring stone end and ridge stacks. Originally, it had paired stone flues with moulded basins and caps, but the ridge and left end stacks have largely been rebuilt in brick. The building has a T-shaped plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a three-window range.

The left side, facing the street, features a part-blocked door to the left of centre with a wooden lintel, and a two-light casement window that has replaced a door. There is a small window at a lower level on the ground floor far left with a segmental-arched head. To the right on the ground floor, there is a three-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window with a hood mould. The first floor has similar three-light windows. The cross wing projects to the right and includes a six-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window on the ground floor with a king mullion and hood mould, a four-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion window on the first floor, and a similar three-light window in the attic, both with hood moulds. The building features quoins and overhanging eaves.

Inside, there are ogee stop-chamfered spine beams and several stone fireplaces that are hollow-chamfered and wave-moulded, with four-centred heads located in the upper rooms.
