Description

New Park House is a house originally built in the 16th century using materials from a nearby suppressed Premonstratensian Priory. It has been altered in the 19th century and remodelled in the 20th century. The building features coursed ironstone and limestone, with limestone mainly used on the ground floor, and has a roof made of graded Swithland slate.

The house is two storeys tall with a dormer attic and has an irregular bay system. There is a 19th-century gabled porch on the right side, also with a Swithland slate roof. To the left, there are five 2-light casement windows with glazing bars, which have been renewed and are set under segmental arches. One similar window is located on the first floor, and all of these are standard late 19th-century types from the Belvoir Estate. Additionally, there are one 2-light and one 3-light 16th-century mullioned windows on the first floor, both set under timber lintels.

The house has a shallow gabled roof with three sloping dormers. There is a limestone stack at the south gable end and two limestone ridge stacks to the left of centre, all standing on ironstone plinths. Attached to the south gable stack is a mid-19th-century openwork timber bell-cote, which stands on a glazed ridge dormer and features a shallow ogival cap and finial. The interior has not been inspected.
