Description
Foxton Lodge is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of brick and ironstone, topped with a graded Swithland slate roof featuring stone coped gables with kneelers. A former coped gable is still visible, and there are two brick ridge stacks. The building has a chamfered ironstone plinth and stands two storeys high with garrets.
The west front has four bays, with a brick band on the first floor of the leftmost bay. The entrance is off-centre, featuring a doorway with a flat hood supported by brackets and a part-glazed four-panel door. To the left of the doorway is a single tripartite sash window with a cambered arch and keystone. To the right, there is another tripartite sash with a cambered arch, followed by a similar window. On the upper floor, there are three tripartite sashes with cambered arches, the leftmost of which has a keystone. All of the sash windows are from the late 19th century.
The north gable wall has a tall chamfered stone plinth and brick bands at the first floor and garret floor levels. Above, in the gable, there is a late 19th-century tripartite sash window with a cambered arch. The south gable wall features a large, late 19th-century canted bay window on the ground floor.
