Description
Langton Farmhouse is a house with an attached cottage built in 1730. It is constructed of brick and stone, topped with a slate roof featuring a central ridge stack. The building has a chamfered stone plinth and stands two storeys high, with a basement and a garret.
The south front of the farmhouse has two bays. There is an off-centre doorway with a cambered arch leading to a 20th-century part-glazed door. To the right of the doorway is a two-light sliding sash window with a flat arch. Above the door, there is a similar window with a concrete lintel. The west gable wall features an unglazed basement window set in the plinth, which has a wooden lintel and iron bars. Above this, there is a three-light casement window with a cambered arch, followed by another similar window, and a fixed light garret window in a shallow recess, which has a datestone above inscribed with "I T H 1730."
The adjoining cottage on the east gable has a two-bay south front, featuring an off-centre doorway with a wooden lintel and a 20th-century part-glazed door. To the right, there is a three-light sliding sash window with a cambered arch, and above it, there is a similar window. There is also a later lean-to structure attached to the east.
