Description
Bridge Number 61 over Foxton Bottom Lock on the Grand Union Canal Leicester Line is an early 19th-century structure made of brick. It features buttresses with coping stones at both ends. The south parapet has a mix of segmental and triangular coping bricks, along with a dentilled brick band. A brick segmental arch supports an iron plaque displaying the number 61, which is centrally placed above the arch. The Grand Union Canal, which this bridge spans, was engineered by Benjamin Bevan and completed in 1814.
