Description
Leys Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings, and has a corrugated iron roof, two brick gable stacks, and coped gables with kneelers. The ground floor has a rubblestone plinth, and double brick bands mark the first floor. A dentilled brick eaves cornice runs along the top. The east front of the house is two and a half storeys high, with three bays. The central doorway has a cambered arch and a five-panel door with a glazed overlight. It is flanked by single 19th-century bay windows with slate roofs and three plain sashes each. Above the bay windows is a single central sash, flanked by 19th-century tripartite sashes with cambered arches. In the attic are two gabled dormers with bargeboards and two-light casements.
