Description
Bents Close is a house built in 1741, with 20th-century additions. It is constructed of brick and has a slate roof with a central ridge stack and a brick plinth. The house features a lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys tall with attics. The east front has three bays, with a slightly off-centre doorway that has a cambered arch and a keystone, leading to a 20th-century plank door. To the right, there is a single two-light casement window with a cambered arch and keystone, and to the left, there is a similar window. Above the door, there is a small oculus flanked by two single two-light casements with flat arches. Further up, there are two 20th-century flat-roofed dormers with two-light casements. The north gable wall features a datestone marked 1741. There are single-storey 20th-century additions to both the left and right of the house. Inside, there is a panelled lobby, a dogleg staircase, plain chamfered main beams and common joists, and an 18th-century corner cupboard with a moulded door frame.
