Description
Water Bailiffs Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed ironstone and limestone, topped with a roof of 20th-century concrete tiles. The building has two storeys and features three bays of irregular arrangement. The east side has a central panelled door with an overlight, and above the door is a single-light window. To the left of the door is a three-light mullioned casement window, while to the right is a three-light cross casement window. There is a similar window above the left-side window. The cottage has a bell-based gabled roof that was altered in the early 19th century, and it includes internal gable-end stacks. The west side has two window bays, featuring three-light cross casements on the ground floor and three-light mullioned casements on the first floor. A sloping dormer is present in the roof. Additionally, there is a two-storey brick addition that was added to the south gable in the early 19th century.
