Description

This is a late 16th or early 17th century timber-framed cottage on Wymeswold Road, Hooton. The building has brick infill, which may be original. It features eight bays of timber framing, arranged in two square panels, with arch bracing on a rubble plinth. Visible joist rinds are located below the middle rail, supported by a lateral beam visible in the gable end. A door is situated in the sixth bay from the left, and various casement windows are present. The gable wall has a herringbone hogging pattern. The roof is thatched, with gable end stacks. To the right of the cottage is an adjacent outbuilding constructed from rubble and brick, with a pantiled roof and a brick gable stack.
