Description
This is a barn located directly behind numbers 9 and 9A on Loughborough Road in Mountsorrel. It likely dates from the 18th century and was raised in the 19th century. The barn is constructed of granite rubble stone, with some areas raised in red brick, and features a Welsh slate roof. The gable faces the front to the left. It has two storeys, with three loft openings, two doors, two window openings, and some loopholes below. The eaves are decorated with brick dentils, and there is a loft door opening at the left end. Inside, the barn contains chamfered beams and a four-bay tie-beam truss roof with collars, along with a brick wall across the center. This barn is included for its group value with the adjacent properties.
