Description
Nos. 3, 5, and 7 on Loughborough Road are a range of three cottages, likely built in the late 17th century. They are constructed from colourwashed brick with a granite rubble stone plinth, and feature a Welsh slate roof with brick stacks at the ends of the central section. The cottages have gabled cross wings on either end and display brick dentilled bands above the ground floor and at the eaves, which continue across the gables and on the shouldered coped gables.
The buildings are 2½ storeys high and have three 3-light horizontal sliding sash windows, along with a similar 2-light window in the attic of the right gable. The left gable attic contains a 20th-century window. On the ground floor, there are three 8/8 sash windows and three 4-panelled doors, with the door on the right featuring an overlight. All openings are topped with cambered lintels. The rear gable reveals a small area of exposed timber framing.
