Description
The building is a workshop at Number 7, formerly a forge, along with a wall at Numbers 9 and 9A, located on the west side of Loughborough Road in Mountsorrel. The workshop dates from the mid-19th century, while the wall is likely from the 18th century. The workshop is constructed of colourwashed granite rubble stone and brick, topped with a Welsh slate roof. It features a gable end facing the street, with two storeys that include a 3-light horizontal sliding sash window above a 3-light casement window with top lights. On the left side, there is a wide low 3-light horizontal sliding sash window and a stable door, along with a loft door and a 2-light casement window above. Extending to the right from the gable end along Loughborough Road is a wall approximately 3 meters high. This building and wall are included for their group value.
