Description
This is a barn dating from the 18th century, located immediately to the west of numbers 11 and 12. It is constructed from roughly dressed stone and features a graduated stone slate roof with some brick additions. The barn has opposed cart entries, with a shippon (an outshut) to the right and roughly two bays to the left. The building has quoins and a cart entry beneath a timber lintel, although the rear entry is blocked. To the left, there is a small roofed platform and a tall door at the extreme left. The outshut includes a dressed door, a blocked window, and a larger window that is of later date. There is also a door at first floor level in the left gable. The rear and right sides of the barn are concealed by lean-to additions from the 19th or 20th century. Inside, the barn features tie-beam roof trusses with inclined struts that support the original purlins. This barn is included for its group value.
