Description
No. 8 Lower Church Street is an early 19th-century cottage located in Syston. The building is constructed of brick and features a new roof covering. It stands two storeys high and has a three-unit plan, with one bay to the right of the doorway. The doorway is framed in plain wood, and to its left are two windows: the inner window is a 2-light horizontally sliding sash, while the outer window has been renewed. All lower windows have cambered brick heads. On the upper floor, there are three windows; the central window has been renewed, while the others are 3-light and 2-light horizontally sliding sashes. The cottage also has a nogged eaves cornice and is equipped with one axial stack and two gable end stacks.
