Description
This is an early 19th-century cottage located on Lower Church Street in Syston. It is constructed of Flemish bond brickwork, distinguished by yellow brick headers. The roof has been replaced. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is two stories high, featuring a central doorway. The door itself has incised panels and a fanlight with a teardrop pattern, set within a moulded wooden architrave. Clustered shafts and consoles support a flat canopy above the door. The windows have nine lights on each floor and are replacements within original openings, each framed by flat-arched brickwork. A round arched opening provides access to a passageway on the left side of the elevation. Gable end stacks are present.
