Description
No. 16 Bath Street is a house that likely dates from the early 17th century, with a later addition from the 19th century. The building is timber framed with original brick nogging and consists of three bays featuring square panelled timber framing set on a granite rubble plinth. The outer upper bays have a middle rail and arch bracing. It has a Welsh slate roof. The entrance is located in a modern gabled porch on the left side, and there are 2-light casement windows in the central bay on each floor. The house was significantly heightened in the 19th century, which includes one additional bay on the left with a 4-light casement window on the ground floor and two single lights above. There are stacks on the gable ends of the original dwelling, and more brick nogging is visible at the rear. The rear of the 19th-century wing incorporates a sill beam and posts from an earlier timber framed structure.
